Table Manners
SFMOMA's *Table Manners* examines how tableware design shapes the way we eat, gather, and connect across cultures. Drawing from nearly a century of the museum's Architecture + Design collection, this exhibition showcases ingenious serving pieces and dining objects—from inventive wine glasses that refill themselves to teapots crafted from tea leaves themselves—alongside cutting-edge modernist flatware and utensils fashioned from unexpected materials like recycled CDs. Featuring contributions from acclaimed designers including Virgil Abloh, Joe Colombo, and Zaha Hadid, the show reveals dining as both performance and intimate social ritual, enhanced by original illustrations and textiles from Lucy Stark.
