About Place: Bay Area Artists from the Svane Gift

August 10, 2024 – July 5, 2026

Discover how Bay Area artists interpret and connect with place—from the physical landscape to personal belonging—in this engaging collection drawn from the Svane Family Foundation's generous 2022 gift. Featuring works by over 30 local artists, the exhibition examines urgent themes including climate change, migration, and social justice through diverse mediums and perspectives. Highlights include Saif Azzuz's vibrant drought-inspired paintings, Guillermo Galindo's poignant assemblages made from border-found objects, and Clare Rojas's rainbow-hued meditation on environmental belonging. Included with general admission, the show rotates artworks throughout its run.
